Sewing for Kids

Due to the overwhelming response (Thank you so much!) we are expanding and adding to our Sewing for Kids classes. We are so excited to be offering these classes, and it is nice to see that sewing is still going strong with area children.

Please continue to let us know that you want more classes for any topic. We love your feedback!

Summer Sewing For Kids Details
For kids ages 8 and up. Learn the valuable skill of sewing with others of the same age in this very fun class. Along with optional long-term projects, they will create simple projects to take home. They can bring their own sewing machine or call ahead to reserve a store machine! These classes are held on a regular basis. If you don't see a date listed, please call the store. Classes cost $8 plus whatever supplies are needed for the project.

For a recent class we made a Cell Phone/i-pod/Camera Bag. An adorable carry bag that is easy to make and fun to decorate. $8 plus $1.50 pattern fee. 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This was a terrific class. Fall Sewing for Kids with Vita Nederveld
Kids will learn the valuable skill of sewing with others of their age in this very fun class. Projects are easy for beginners and perfect for young sewers. Sewing machines are available for use during class (Please call ahead to reserve a machine 616-365-8282.).

Location: Knapp's Corner
Skill Level: Ages 9 and up – Beginner and up
Sessions: 1 Monthly
Class Fee: $8 per class plus any kit fees if applicable
December/January Project: American Girl Sleeping Bag, Wednesdays, December 16 and January 6; 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Make It Fun at Lakeshore-Beginner Class with Louisa Raguckis
We are now offering sewing classes for brand new sewers. Learn how to measure, read a pattern and choose fun fabrics. We will make pajama pants, a pillow case and tote bag from the Sew Easy Pajama Pants book by Cindy Taylor Oates (required). Sewing machines are available upon request (Call 616-531-5561 to reserve a machine.). Ages 12 and up. (adults welcome)
