Adult Professional Commercial Pattern-Original Execution Category
This is a category for adults (over 18) who are professional Seamstresses. Our entrants made garments for themselves or others based on a commercial pattern.

Some of the garments from this category were made by Sewing Instructors that teach for Lakeshore Sewing. We are very proud of the quality and attention to detail on their garments. Also, in this category we have a few entries that were for show exhibition only. They were, of course made by some of our Lakeshore Sewing employees.

You can click on the photos to see a larger view.

In the photos above: 1) Brynn Muir looks absolutely adorable in this cute Spring Jacket made by Louisa Raguckis. Brynn did a really good job of walking the runway too. She was just so cute! 2 and 3) Barbara Wright showed us a very fun and flattering Pop of Color jacket. The jacket offered her alot of creative freedom to play with color, and she did a very nice job of it. Louisa actually teaches kids sewing classes for us. Barbara teaches sewing classes here as well.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Carol Schut models the Pop Top Jacket she made. The Pop Top Jacket has been a class at Lakeshore Sewing and if you are interested, just let us know. We may be offering it again soon! Carol can be found at our Wyoming store just about every day of the week. She has an amazing eye for color, we love that she uses these fun colors in many of her items. 3 and 4) Connie Korsky is modeling this stunning Japanese Kimono which she made. Connie has done a wonderful job of placing details in the kimono. Connie is also an excellent instructor for us. She has a great fashion sense too.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) This stylish Spring Jacket is perfect for rain or shine. It's a great color too. It is modeled by Dawn Renkema and made by Louisa Ragukis. 3 and 4) Barbara Wright is showing us another of the many garments she has made. This one is called Paisley Passion. You don't have to be a paisley person to love it either. It's great!

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Carol Schut did a quick change into this comfortable Silk Tunic which features flattering lines and some great detail on the front. 3 and 4) Brittney Weidman is modeling a bright yellow skirt made by Louisa Ragukis. The skirt has a casual look and just the right amount of flow for spinning while at a dance!

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Barbara Wright didn't dissapoint us at all when she showed us this Study in Red and Black Jacket. The colors used and their placement in the design is stunning. Barb really knows her jackets! 3 and 4) Connie Korsky also had more to show (and these are just a fraction of what she has made) with this Red/Black Spring Jacket. It looks so soft and comfortable yet it is also elegant. That's a combination that's hard to beat.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Alice Barkow is also one of the great sewing instructors you will find here. She is modeling a very pretty pastel Fitted Princess LIne Dress with Flared Skirt and Bolero Jacket. There is alot of difficult techniques in the details of this garment but she is an excellent seamstress and it came out beautifully. 3 and 4) Carol Schut did a quick change into this impressive black Embroidered Jacket. She placed a design on the upper left of the jacket, and again on the right pocket. On the back she used a large embroidery design. All designs were embroidered on the new Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Barbara Wright had yet one more jacket to share. This one was her Study in Black and Red. Same colors as her earlier jacket but in an entirely different jacket! 3 and 4) And Connie wasn't done either! I think between the two of them, they could keep us amazed for hours with their designs. Connie saved this one for last and it was dazzeling! It was a Contemporary Wool Blend Jacket and Skirt. The lines of the jacket and her added details were breathtaking!

In the photo above our entrants are being awarded their prizes.

And the winners are. . . .

Above: The award for Special Achievement - Overall Impact went to Barbara Wright, for her Study in Red & Black.

Above: Connie Korsky won the other award for Special Achievement - Overall Impact with her Contemporary Wool Blend Jacket and Skirt.

Above: 2nd place went to Connie Korsky for that fabulous Japanese Kimono.

Above: 1st place went to Barbara Wright for her Study in Black and Red.

We still had a very special prize to give, and that was the Judge's Choice Award. This prize was given to a brand new sewer who has shown special promise and commitment. The winner was a very happy Taylor Jarrett. She and her parents were very suprised and also very happy. Have fun with your brand new Babylock Natalie sewing machine, and we can't wait to see what you show us at next year's show!

We also had another prize to give away. Babylock also wanted to help us promote sewing in West Michigan. We were happy to announce that we had yet another sewing machine super prize! Babylock gave us a brand new Crafter's Choice sewing machine valued at over $1,000! Our winner was the one who demonstrated extraordinary originality and promise. We completely suprised Randi Knight, the winner. She was so excited, and we just know we will be seeing her and her designs again very soon! Good job Randi!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated and who came to see the show. We hope to see you all next year and look forward to seeing all your new designs. Get those sewing machines humming! You have a year to start creating!
