Adult Commercial Pattern-Original Execution Category
This is a category for adults (over 18) who are not professionals. Our entrants made garments for themselves or others based on a commercial pattern.
We found that once again, just like last year, our entrants amazed us with their talents. In this category and our next category, we have a few entries that were for show exhibition only. They were, of course made by some of our Lakeshore Sewing employees.

In the photos above: 1) First up was little cutie, Brooklynn Bosch, who at 2 fingers old, skipped down the runway. Her grandma, Kaylynn Bosch (our website administrator and software educator) made Brooklynn's dress to exhibit. 2) Looking every bit the Queen, Elaina Huizenga modeled this stunning Queen Elizabeth Costume. The costume was made by Kris Huizenga. 3 and 4) Avid sewer, Marliss Myran showed this very versitile High Five Jacket. She is the maker as well as the model.

In the 3 photos above: We have three photos of an impressive Wool Lycra Dress with a Reversible Wool Coat. Gwynne de Longpre is both the model and maker of this very nice entry.
In the photos above: 1 and 2) Cynthia Wedge is both model and maker of this pretty Teal Crepe-Back Satin Jacket. The details sewn into the jacket add to its appeal. 3 and 4) Carol Haynes made and modeled this fun Walking with Penguins Jacket. There is a special story that goes with the jacket, as she has added and sewn in details that have a special meaning to her from a recent trip to Alaska. This is much more than just a jacket for sure!

In the photos above: 1) Laurel Hayward is both model and maker of her Casual Quilted Jacket. The colors she used are great, and her attention to detial is even greater. 2 and 3) Marjorie Williams shows us this Asian Art Jacket that she recently made. Her use of color in the design is terrific. Take a closer look at the details on the back and sleeves and you will see why we like it so much.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Marliss Myran made a quick change into this new Floragraphics Jacket, which she also made. She found as many of us have, that the new fabric and design patterns by Floragraphics are inspiring to say the least. 3 and 4) Gwynne de Longpre also did a quick change-up into this very flattering Suede Pieced Jacket. She did an awesome job of piecing, and the fact that she did it with hard to handle suede made us appreciate all of her efforts.

In the photos above: 1 and 2) Wow - is the word to describe Winter Elegance, a long coat made and modeled by Deanna Humphrey. It is hard to see because of the color and website photo quality, but this jacket is put together flawlessly. The attention to detail is amazing. This coat had a great story too. Part of it was that she used her Grandmother's buttons. 3 and 4) Julia Breza changed from a dress that she made for the youth category into a beautiful gown made by Alexandra Breza. The gown had wonderful details throughout, and reminds us of elegance and grace from long ago.
In the photos above our entrants await the results and Deanna Humphrey accepts her prize.
And the winners are. . . .

Above: It was no suprise that 1st place had to be the classy long Winter Elegance coat made and modeled by Deanna Humphrey. Not only was the jacket a joy to see, the story was a joy to hear.
